    • Istanbul office opening

On 6 November Henning Larsen Architects Istanbul held a symposium titled: “Knowledge Places of Tomorrow”, followed by a reception to mark the opening of the new office in Turkey. Through an open dialogue with stakeholders from different disciplines and cultures, the 65 attendees explored the synergy between innovative workplaces and educational environments.

    • Anne Marie Galmstrup, Prinipal Manager of the Henning Larsen Architects Istanbul office, made an introductory speech about the topic of the symposium. The first talk was given by Dean Zuhal Ulusoy from Kadir Has University about creativity and space. The next presentation was by Chairman Tobias Levey from BIO Istanbul about sustainable knowledge-sharing cities, followed by CEO of Henning Larsen Architects, Mette Kynne Frandsen, about the physical planning’s opportunities, and Project Manager Tolga Özdemir from Siemens Real Estate talked on visions and strategies for workplaces. Finally, CEO of Danish Architecture Centre in Copenhagen, Kent Martinussen, asked: “What is a Knowledge-sharing Place?” Based on the talks, Anne Marie Galmstrup moderated a discussion between the panel and the present audience. The symposium was ended by a speech by the Danish Ambassador to Turkey, Ruben Madsen, who officially opened Henning Larsen Architects’ new Istanbul office. Henning Larsen Architects Istanbul is managed by Principal Anne Marie Galmstrup, and the office will function as a hub for current and future projects in the region.
