Ilia Chavchavadze State University is located 2 kilometres west of the centre of Tbilisi in Georgia and it is the second largest university of the country. The new university campus will accommodate 10.000 students, and 2.000 researchers, teachers, and administrative personnel.
The overall vision for the new university has been to create the best possible framework for both research and learning, where the two fields can interact closely. An optimized physical frame around the new environment for teaching and researching will be the best basis for world class learning.
The renovation of the old headquarters must live up to the demands of a passive building and there is a main focus on minimization of generation of waste, consumption of fossil fuels, and water.
