Sustainable Office Building Rising in Hyllie

A collaboration between Henning Larsen and Skanska, the new offices in Hyllie, meet the highest international standards of sustainability.

    • Construction of the new Klipporna office building is underway in Hyllie, on the southern tip of Sweden. Though the building is still under construction, Klipporna has already received LEED certification at the highest level. LEED, Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a green building certification programme that recognises best-in-class building strategies, practices, and materials, among other parameters. Points are given in categories such as indoor climate, material use and energy efficiency, and Klipporna is being built according to the highest standard, LEED Platinum.

Certification is based on a thorough consideration of both design and construction. For instance, preliminary daylight analysis has been fundamental to the creation of optimal working conditions, and vegetation on rooftops and in the inner courtyard will contribute to a green and peaceful environment. Furthermore, Skanska has implemented their unique Deep Green Cooling System, which provides natural cooling throughout the offices.

Henning Larsen Architects has designed the buildings and facades, while local partner Tema Architects has supplied the plan drawings.

The office building is expected to be complete in the fall of 2015.
