In October 2014, the Henning Larsen Foundation launched an international film competition on architecture and film. The aim of the competition was to revitalize the use of architecture on film and foster new inspiration to architects and film professionals.
The competition garnered 118 submissions from 23 countries, from which three films were handpicked as the winners by a judging committee consisting of six architecture and film professionals. The competition entries were evaluated on their artistic quality and ability to inspire a new approach to architecture and the medium of film. The theme of the competition was the experience of architectural space over time.
The three short films will be shown as trailers for the film `Henning Larsen – Light and Space´, a portrait film of the world renowned Danish architect Henning Larsen. In this film Henning Larsen talks sharply and critically about the relationship between art and power.
The premiere of the three short films and the screening of the Henning Larsen portrait film will take place at the Bow Tie Chelsea Cinemas in Manhattan, New York.
