We Will Design the New Hospital on Helgeland

Helgeland, in northern Norway, will get its first hospital. It includes the locations Mosjøen, Sandnessjøen and Mo i Rana. We have made the winning proposal as part of the project group. Together, we are a unique group of architects and consultants consisting of Henning Larsen, Rambøll, Sweco, Per Knudsen Arkitektkontor AS, and KHR Architecture AS.

    • In the autumn of 2021, Sykehusbygg RHF announced a competition for architectural and consulting engineering services in connection with the implementation of the concept phase for the New Helgeland Hospital project. It is now clear that our project team has been assigned the task.

The goal of the project is for Helgeland Hospital to further develop a good local hospital offer and a decentralized specialist service on Helgeland in collaboration with the municipalities. In this there is also an ambition to strengthen research, professional development and education.

Siri Rørholt is a senior architect at Henning Larsen Norway, and has been involved in developing the architectural vision for the new hospital building. She praises the collaboration within the project group.

      - In order to meet the ambition to develop Norway's best local hospital, we depend on close collaboration with the client, the professional communities and the authorities. We focus on facilitating a forum for collaboration with a special focus on bringing the three locations together into a comprehensive project.

      - We have had great pleasure in utilizing our long-term collaboration which helped us win the project and which now gives us positive energy to take on the task, says Rørholt.

Design Director in Norway, Kasper Kyndesen sees The New Helgeland Hospital as a key project in our strategy for Henning Larsen in Norway.

      - I am incredibly proud and happy that we have won the New Helgeland Hospital with such a strong and experienced team. Winning this project was important to us, as it is a source of our new strategy and investment in hospital buildings in Norway. We have had an excellent bidding process which indicates a continued good and solid collaboration in the work we have ahead of us.
