  • Enhancements to the garden include an improved visitor experience, better circulation and spaces to facilitate orchid naming and events, the formation of a Tropical Montane Orchidetum and the optimisation of the existing 1 hectare orchid nursery. Aesthetic, cultural, conservation and thematic orchid narratives weave through the space, to engender an awareness and passion for orchids as Singapore’s natural heritage.

In the Tropical Montane Orchidetum - which encompasses the revamped orchidarium, Yuen Peng-McNiece Bromeliad Collection, Tan Hoon Siang Mist House and an extended Cool House - visitors can enjoy the transition of flora as they ‘ascend’ the lowland forest into the cool tropical montane forest. A sustainable water drainage system is a highlight and wayfinding strategy to connect the different displays, while cleansing the water runoff into Symphony Lake.
