We are born out of the Scandinavian design tradition – aesthetically, socially, and intellectually. Our work is based on a firm belief in knowledge, generosity, inspiration, and rethinking traditions. This forms the basis of our work to create architecture which improves people’s everyday life and meets the challenges of tomorrow. Our projects are characterized by a high degree of social responsibility – not only in relation to materials and production but also in regards to community-creating spaces.
Henning Larsen attaches great importance to designing environmentally friendly and integrated, energy-efficient solutions. Incorporating sustainability into building processes has never been more important. The building industry generates almost 40 % of CO2 emissions and 30% of waste. Therefore, resource-efficiency should be implemented in building designs. This means that knowledge of energy optimization, materials, and resources are essential design parameters. We strive to make our designs energy and resource-efficient from conception.
Our head office is located in Copenhagen, with local offices and projects around the world. Our ambition is to work in places where we can make the greatest difference for people and communities. We shape, challenge, and transform the physical space – from cities, urban developments, and buildings to interior design – based on the vision to create progressive design solutions. We exercise this responsibility most humbly.
The CSR policy of Henning Larsen is based on our strong dedication to helping protect and promote the principles of the UN Global Compact. We have been members since 2008 and continuously strive to improve our impact in our own organization, through our design solutions, and in our collaboration with global partners. On an annual basis, we publish a Communication on Progress report to demonstrate our continued commitment to the principles.
Henning Larsen is also a strong supporter of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We work to contribute to the achievement of the goals and their underlying targets through our projects around the world and through the way we operate our own organization.
