Groundbreaking for new town centre in Middelfart

The construction of a new town centre in Middelfart including city hall, apartments, and shops was initiated the 2nd of February when the collaborators of the project turned the first sod. The project is created in collaboration with Henning Larsen, Rambøll, and LIW Planning.

    • Six spades were put into the ground in front of the old city hall as a palpable proof of the beginning of the demolition and the following construction of a new city hall, apartments, and shops. The vision is for the new town centre to be a common gathering point for all citizens of Middelfart.

The new town centre is situated in the historical city centre close to the sea and the harbor front. The mixed use program including town hall, apartments, and shops ensures activity in the area throughout the day.

The town centre is realized in collaboration between communal and private stakeholders, Mayor Steen Dahlstrøm pointed out in his speech. For that reason the first sod was turned by representatives from Middelfart Municipality, Kulturøens Bycenter, and Hexagon Ejendomme.
