      Prequalified for Campus Aabenraa, Denmark

Henning Larsen Architects, in collaboration with turnkey contractor Hoff-mann, Rambøll Denmark and GBL / Rambøll – Urban Planning and Land-scape Design, has been shortlisted for the competition for a new campus building in Aabenraa, Denmark.

    • In addition to the new educational facilities, the competing teams are to develop a master plan for the campus, including existing and new educa-tional institutions as well as a new multi-arena.

The 7,500 m2 campus building will comprise University College South Denmark’s professional bachelor’s programmes in Teaching, Social Educa-tion and Work as well as Nursing. The project is organised as a design-build contract.

In total, 21 teams submitted an Expression of Interest to participate in the competition. Five teams have been shortlisted to participate. In the moti-vation for choosing Henning Larsen Architects and team, the jury empha-sises that the team “in a very convincing way [has] documented several ref-erences from similar projects within concept development, detailed design and construction of educational buildings and master planning.”

Henning Larsen Architects is behind several campus buildings for profes-sional bachelor’s programmes. Last year, the company won the competition for Lillebaelt Academy of Professional Higher Education in Odense, Den-mark. In 2012, Campus Roskilde, an award-winning and innovative project, was inaugurated in Roskilde on the outskirts of Copenhagen, and Jåttå Vo-cational School in Stavanger, Norway, was completed in 2007.
