        The Future of Senior Housing and Youth Residences

        Henning Larsen Architects has teamed up with Entasis, Søren Jensen Engineers and Schul Landscape Architects in the competition for designing ‘Fremtidens Sølund’ by the lakes of Copenhagen. The new buildings will comprise both a healthcare centre, senior housing, a day-care centre and youth residences.

      • The current senior houses were built in 1979 at one of the most attractive addresses in Copenhagen, right by the lakes. However, a wish for flexible and modern solutions means, that the 150 apartments will be demolished to make room for the new 37,900 square meters. ‘Fremtidens Sølund’ will entail a day care centre, youth residences, retail, parking and new facilities for healthcare and senior housing.

        Four other teams led by respectively Arkitema, SHL, KANT and C.F. Møller have also entered into the competition.
