      Sustainable Build Summit in Copenhagen

This week, the Sustainable Build partnership hosts their first summit in Copenhagen. Henning Larsen Architects supports the initiative as founding partner and contributes, amongst others, with knowledge about sustainable building materials.

    • The summit focuses on sustainable building materials, and gathers 150 experts in sustainability and innovation within the building industry.

Behind the initiative are The Danish Industry Foundation, Danish Architecture Centre, and Leaderlab. Henning Larsen Architects partakes as a founding partner together with NCC, PensionDanmark, Central Denmark Region, and Tarkett.

The speakers list counts a range of international specialists and managers who will encourage a broad and ambitious debate. The goal is for the summit to develop and present ten tangible solutions. Furthermore, the event kicks off three taskforces, which over a six-month period should develop new ways of sharing knowledge about building materials within the industry.

In that connection, Henning Larsen Architects has made its digital material database available for the parts involved. The material database comprises knowledge about and proof of over 100 building materials properties and performance with regard to aesthetics, health, environment, ethics, and economy.

“Sustainable Build” was founded in November 2015. The purpose of the partnership is to promote growth within sustainable building through innovation, knowledge sharing and better correlations. The aim is to strengthen the competitiveness of the Danish building industry globally.
