Siemens Shortlisted as World's Most Sustainable Building

Siemens’ global headquarters in Munich is shortlisted at this year’s MIPIM Awards in the ’Best Innovative Green Building’ category.

    • Siemens' new global headquarters meets the highest standards for sustainability. It has been certified DGNB Platinum and LEED Platinum. The office building is located in the heart of Munich and is one of Europe’s most sustainable buildings.

The new headquarters was inaugurated in June, 2016. It consumes 90 percent less electricity and uses 75 percent less water than its predecessor. The tilted inner facade increases the amount of natural light that penetrates the building’s interior spaces and reduces the need for artificial lighting.

It is the fourth time that the category ’Best Innovative Green Building’ is represented at the MIPIM Awards. The awards will be presented in Cannes in March during the annual MIPIM conference – the world’s largest real estate event.

MIPIM has existed since 1990 and gathers international professionals from all real estate sectors – retail, residential, healthcare and industry.
