The Opera Bastille project is part of an operation launched by the Ministry of Culture and Communication in France.
The project has two primary objectives: the transformation of the modular performance hall with public amenities and the construction of new workshop facilities.
The transformation program also includes the development of orchestra rehearsal facilities, offices and the adjoining foyer of the modular performance hall. In total, the program involves approximately 12,000 m².
The Opéra Bastille is located on the Place de la Bastille, in the 12th arrondissement in central Paris. The opera can accommodate 2,745 people in its main hall and includes a 500-seat amphitheater and a 230-seat studio. Inaugurated in 1989 as part of the "Grands travaux" of President François Mitterrand, it is part of the Opéra National de Paris with the Opéra Garnier.
