Carl H. Lindner College of Business Wins Regional World Architecture News Award

Winning in the Future Projects: Education category for the Americas, the Carl H. Lindner College of Business receives a 2018 WAN Award. The new college building forms part of the University of Cincinnati.

    • Designed with the ambition to create a future-oriented learning environment that promotes educational excellence and community, the Carl H. Lindner College of Business wins a regional award for Future Projects: Education at the 2018 World Architecture News Awards.

The College is designed as a flexible building that can accommodate various pedagogies, increased occupancies, and transition from closed to open offices. Classrooms will accommodate different kinds of instruction: generous floor areas, height-adjustable furnishings, and audio-visual capacity allow for traditional front-facing lectures as well as group work and activated learning. The auditoria on the ground floor similarly accommodate for different types of pedagogy and program: the flat floor in the lecture hall allows for multiple use and seating configurations, while the tiered platforms and furniture in the auditorium can facilitate traditional lectures and group work simultaneously.

The building is set to open Fall 2019. The College wins alongside Nordea Bank Headquarters in the Commercial category, and Belfast Waterside in the Future Projects: Urban Design category. This is the first award for the Carl H. Lindner College of Business at the University of Cincinnati.
