We're selected to lead design for The Ohio State University’s innovation district
At more than 270 acres, the innovation district will bring academics together with the public and private sectors to create a hub for entrepreneurship and world-leading innovation in the heart of Central Ohio, marking the next chapter in the university’s history.
The Ohio State University announced in February 2023 that a collaboration of the university-affiliated Science and Technology Campus Corporation (SciTech) and global real estate company Tishman Speyer will lead the development of a masterplan for the university’s innovation district. Henning Larsen has been selected as lead master planner in collaboration with local master planner NBBJ and landscape master planner OLIN.
“This is an exciting opportunity. The masterplan is expected to include space to live, play and innovate, and create a neighborhood that feels vibrant and welcoming – to attract and retain talented people,” said SciTech President Amanda Hoffsis.
Planning sessions with university leaders, SciTech and Tishman Speyer, and the design team are currently underway, with vision sessions between internal and external stakeholders expected to occur through the first half of 2023.

Henning Larsen and Tishman Speyer are also currently working with the San Francisco Giants on the 28-acre Mission Rock mixed-use development, in which Henning Larsen designed Visa’s new Global Headquarters, due to complete this year.
