Claude Bøjer Godefroy is Founding Partner and Design Director at Henning Larsen’s office in Hong Kong. Since 2008, he has been leading the company’s activities in China and more recently in the Philippines.
Claude has 20 years of experience in a wide range of architectural typologies ranging from Cultural Landmarks, Educational Buildings, Headquarters, Mixed-use developments, Urban Design and Tall Buildings.
Leading the design in Hong Kong, Claude has won several competitions that are currently under construction, such as Foshan Opera Tower, Hangzhou East Lake Opera, French International School in Hong Kong, and the Icone Tower in Manila, the tallest to-be high-rise in the Philippines.
Claude’s deep interest in Asia anchors his designs in the region to their context. He researches intensively on the particularities of the local culture, climate, the site, and its community before embarking on a design. He combines this contextual approach with a Scandinavian sensibility to wellbeing and quality, often translated into a unique interpretation of space and daylight.
Claude delivers iconic designs that also aim to be sustainably responsible in a broad sense: environmentally, culturally and socially. The buildings he designs gives back generously to the city and to the public realm.
He is also a sought-after public speaker with recurrent participation at conferences such as the Council for Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. He also participates in international jury panels, as a representative of the Union of International Architects.
