Elva Tang is Founding Partner and Managing Director at Henning Larsen’s Hong Kong office. Since 2004, she has been leading the company’s activities throughout China and more recently in the Philippines.
Elva has experience spanning 15 years on a wide range of projects across Cultural Landmarks, Company Headquarters, Educational Buildings, Mixed-use developments, Urban Design and Tall Buildings.
Having worked in New York, Copenhagen, Paris, Hong Kong and China her multi-cultural exposure has powered an ability to lead Henning Larsen in developing culturally specific architecture with a Scandinavian ethos in an Asian context.
Elva is in charge of several of the offices’ key projects, including the Hangzhou East Lake Opera in China, the French International School in Hong Kong, and the Icone Tower in Manila, soon to be the tallest high-rise in the Philippines.
Elva’s expertise is particularly attuned to cultivating the finest team of architects and consultants for large-scale, complex projects involving multidisciplinary collaborations. Her skills in contract management always set the best conditions for the team to fulfill the ambitions and interests of clients and stakeholders.
During the design process, Elva leads the dialogues with clients and stakeholders and is experienced in responding to any intricate situation or challenge that arises. Her leadership on projects is not limited to management. She excels in demonstrating the key interests of clients and stakeholders to the design team throughout the design process. Her analytical inputs are key in creating architecture that focuses on people and place. She is also a sought after critic at Universities in China and Hong Kong.
