    • Developed in collaboration with Canadian developers First Gulf and Danish urban planning firm Gehl, the East Harbour masterplan introduces 10 million square feet of new commercial, retail, cultural and public space to Toronto’s urban fabric. As new office towers rise over public squares and sheltered promenades, East Harbour seeks to balance working life with an active social experience in the public realm, all tailored for the Canadian climate. With 100,000 residents soon to live within a one-kilometer radius of East Harbour, the site offers great promise as a local pedestrian hotspot. To support this, the masterplan aims to create a protected microclimate, achieved through careful analysis of building massings, wind patterns, solar conditions and annual climactic shifts. For Toronto residents, this means an estimated 30 to 50 more days per year to connect outdoors.

    • Framing East Harbour to the rest of the city is the East Harbour transit hub, a new stop on Toronto’s existing public transit lines. As a gateway to the district, the station opens East Harbour to the broader community, establishing it as an inclusive, year-round hub of urban life and activity in Toronto.
