We take a multidisciplinary approach to urban planning, bringing together landscape architects, practitioners, and researchers to design holistic urban spaces. We are specialists in microclimate design and take a data-driven approach to designing comfortable urban areas.
Klaksvík's new center is taking form at the bottom of the fjord, where the town's two fell sides meet. Due to the strong winds, this virtually deserted area has divided the town into two.
Our design includes a central square, encircled by buildings that provide shelter from the island's infamous winds, while reconnecting the city. Working within our own Sustainability Department and collaborating engineers, Klaksvik City Centre is designed to take the wind conditions into account and create a comfortable micro climate in the new city center.
