      Spiegel Headquarters Inaugurated

Spiegel's new headquarters in Hamburg was recently inaugurated and the more than 1,000 employees working for the world-renowned media group have now moved into the building.

    • For more than 40 years, Spiegel has been located in Brandstwiete in Hamburg in a building very much characterised by Verner Panton’s colourful pop art design. Spiegel Online and Spiegel TV have been situated at other locations in the city, but now the three divisions are consolidated in one building – the new Spiegel Headquarters.

The new headquarters has a strong sustainable profile and has been pre-certified for a gold medal in the local certification system ’HafenCity Umweltzeichen’ – a forerunner of the subsequently introduced German standard in green building, DGNB.

Henning Larsen won the assignment in an international competition in 2011 based on the objective to develop an open, modern office environment engaging in close dialogue with the city. 13 international architecture companies participated in the competition.
