New Campus Wins the Civic Trust Award

University College Absalon, Campus Roskilde, has been granted a Civic Trust Award. The award is given to projects that make an outstanding contribution to the quality and appearance of the environment.

    • The Civic Trust Awards is the longest standing architectural & built environment awards scheme in Europe. Established in 1959, it recognizes the very best in architecture, urban design, planning, landscape, public realm and public art.

Award level schemes must demonstrate excellence in architecture or design, sustainability, universal design and make a positive social, cultural, environmental or economic benefit to the local community.

The new University College Absalon, Campus Roskilde, consolidates University College Zealand’s professional bachelor’s programmes covering social education and social work, health and teaching.

Campus Roskilde is characterised by a significant green profile where the displaced buildings will help to optimise the energy consumption and make the campus adaptable to possible extensions in the future.

Three projects designed by Henning Larsen Architects have previously won Civic Trust Awards: The Wave in Vejle (2011), Harpa-Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre (2012) and Umeå Arts Campus (2013).
