Vinge City inspires the region of Frankfurt Rhine-Main

The current exhibition at DAM – Deutsches Architektur Museum seeks perspectives on how to develop the Frankfurt Rhine-Main region and looks to Vinge for inspiration.

    • Our design for the new city and train station of Vinge serves as inspiration at the current exhibition at DAM – Deutsches Architektur Museum in Frankfurt. Titled “Living the region – Rhine-Main” the exhibition faces the challenges of mobility and housing in the fast-growing metropolitan region by presenting role model projects from Germany and abroad.

Built around the new train station, centrally located in a green wedge that links the city across the tracks, Vinge is well-connected – internally as well as with the greater Copenhagen region. The station area is the key driver in the overall development comprising residences, shops, offices, institutions, sports facilities and more. Its organic shape merges the landscape and urban development thus constituting a natural center of the new city.

The vision of Vinge is to create a feeling of living in the countryside, but with all the same conveniences, efficiencies and sense of community as being in the city. Covering 370 hectares, it will be the largest urban development project in Denmark.

The Vinge City masterplan is made with Effekt. The train station together with Tredje Natur.
