We invite you to bring your experience as a Senior Exterior Lighting Engineer to join the Highways team in Southampton and develop your career within a world class, global engineering company.

We carry out lighting designs for a wide range of national and international projects; from highways and tunnels to docks and ports.  Clients include local authorities and National Highways frameworks, TfL, design and build for major contractors, aviation and rail infrastructure. In addition to those, you will be involved in the exterior lighting elements of projects for maritime, structures, gantries, environment, and Impact assessment teams within Ramboll.

Key responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for lighting and electrical designs from concept through to construction, preparation of contract drawings and documents including technical reports, design input statements and environmental impact assessments,
• Assume a lead role in the design of innovative low emissions/low energy lighting designs with a focus on sustainability,
• Support the development of junior engineers, and encourage a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing and technical excellence,
• Proactively engage with the team and become a reliable and trusted team member,
• Produce lighting designs that are fully coordinated multi-discipline designs including clash detection exercises in the 3D environment
• Engage with external stakeholders

About You

• You will have gained, or be working towards, an Incorporated Engineer/CENg status and hold good and appropriate experience within the exterior lighting discipline,
• Associate or full membership of a lighting professional organisation (ILP, SLL)
• G39 training would be preferable
• Experience and be conversant in Lighting Reality and Trimble Pro Design design software, and preferably other related design software such as Relux and AutoCAD.
• Completion of an ILP Exterior Lighting Diploma , LET Lighting Diploma or equivalent would be preferrable. Conversant in relevant British and EU standards, DMRB Contract documents, ILP Technical Reports and legislation including Health & Safety
• Conversant in the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) with ideally a C&G or equivalent Level 3 qualification.
